About the workshop;
In the beautiful setting of historical Amersfoort -The Netherlands you will find the first cotton printing workshop in the Netherlands, now turned into a workshop space, Airbnb,  and a small museum.

We will have three days of learning all about botanical printing while using colors.
You will learn how to correctly prepare your fabrics and mordant them with combination mordants,
You will learn how to create diverse vibrant colors on your background of crisply printed leaves. 
I will teach you my methods of creating a balanced layout and design with your leaves.
I will teach you how to work systemically and how to make sure you have the same results over and over again.
You will learn about barriers and blankets
You will leave with several pieces of different types of botanical prints, mostly on silk and wool.
 
Most importantly: in my workshops, we create powerful safe circles to interchange knowledge and our passion for natural dyes. Friendships are formed and our groups stay in touch long after we finish our workshop.

9.30-15.30 with a lunch break (there are cafe's and supermarkets nearby and a nice park to sit in.)
 
Location: Katoendrukkerij De Volmolen, Amersfoort - The Netherlands. This is a monumental building located in historical Amersfoort, 10 minutes walking distance from the train station and buses. 
The workshop has two beautiful Airbnb rooms available for rent, and Amersfoort in general has some lovely options to stay.

What is included:
Your investment includes the use of the studio space, teaching fee, and materials used during the workshop (mordants, dyes, leaves, fabrics) During the workshop we will have coffee and tea available for you.
Not included: transportation to and from the workshop, overnight stays and materials purchased for your own use during the workshop. Meals.
 
Registration and payment:
Use the link to pay your non-refundable downpayment of 100$ which will be deducted from your total payment.. This will secure your space in May.
Balance due until end of Januari.
Participation is limited to 10 students, to ensure full attention and intimate setting.
Total payment for this workshop is 690 dollar (628 Euro)

Transportation:
Absolutely do not rent a car! There is a direct train from the airport to Amersfoort (30 minutes, very comfortable). We work in the inner city, all hotels within the inner city are at walking distance.  Cars are not allowed to enter there. Public transportation is easy and affordable and you can also rent a bike, if you want to venture out a bit more.
